Folks been HOT AF for a myriad of reasons this summer but the main two are: 1) Climate Change 2) Hot Girl Meg AKA Megan THEE Stallion. Love her or hate her, it’s completely not up for debate that this free ass, black queen hailing from Houston, TX has taken the country by storm. Ms. Tina Snow had us all doing a slow twerk to “Big Ole Freak" to now getting us hype off her entire debut album “Fever". But not all hotties are created equal. Meg’s unapologetically free ass spirit has forced us to look at the unspeakable in the black community--misogyny [insert sarcastic gasp]. Let’s be clear the hateration (can we still use that term?)is 100% gender inclusive. Here are the top 4 reasons why some of y’all bitter, hatin asses are BIG MAD about the success of Megan Thee Stallion:
- Social norms for centuries forcing women to be seen as good by remaining chaste has silenced and subdued women’s sexuality. Megan’s sexual liberation is unnerving to both men and women alike who have conformed to this dry ass perception of sex. It’s no secret that sex, even being one of the most natural (and necessary) aspects of life is so taboo only when women talk about. The old adage about wanting a “lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets” is trash af and grounded in patriarchy…that’s one reason why y’all so mad.
- Megan tells men loud and clear--I don’t need you…I want you…when I feel like it. And that, my shooketh chauvinists, is why you mad as hell. How dare Hot Girl Meg inspire women to know their worth…the unmitigated gall…BOY BYE! First of all, men do not own women…PERIODT! Furthermore, the concept of “ownership” is rapey af and truly does stem from the GLOBAL rape culture that disproportionately impacts women and ESPECIALLY black women (throughout the African diaspora).
- Tina Snow got hella bars and she is essentially shittin on many of the freshmen male hip hop artists. FIGHT ME…let me chill, because how patriarchy and misogynoir is set-up, you might do it for real.
- So…totally not just speaking facts about men, women have some explaining to do too--but mansplaining has no space here…AHT AHT! Sis, tell the truth…you know Megan Thee Stallion represents everything we were told not to be while being everything we WANT to be…FREE! We grown sis…why we still out here whispering and being ashamed about our sexuality. In the words of Meg herself, “this pu$$y” got power. So stay big mad, or reclaim your vagina,sis…the choice is yours. But what we NOT gon do is diminish another woman’s courage to truly live in her truth and most importantly, live her best life removed of all fux. There are too many coins to be secured and too many passports to be stamped to be this bothered.
